The school garden at La Golette school in Meyrin

This is the first school vegetable garden we’ve set up in Meyrin! The aim of this pilot project is to test children’s interest in gardening, while assessing the difficulties and obstacles to the widespread introduction of vegetable gardens in Meyrin schools.

École de la Golette, in the heart of Meyrin, was able to welcome a school vegetable garden in 2022.

For this first year, the school’s 7 classes (1P to 4P) got in on the act and set off to discover vegetables and the biodiversity needed for their growth.

Over 5 sessions, they were able to sow, organize the garden, plant, taste and discover the life, history and origins of vegetables.

Funded by the commune of Meyrin, we are delighted to announce the renewal of our mandate for the coming year .

After 2 years of support for this school, the project that has been the talk of the town is soon to be extended to the other schools in the Meyrin commune! It’s a long and complex program, but we’re working on it!

A big well done to all the students for their participation. And a huge thank you to the teachers for their investment in this project.
