Permaculture in the heart of Geneva!

In 2023, Graine de Carotte followed and accompanied the association Le Cardon enchanté from its creation to the end of the season.
With the help of Présence Active, a specialist in participative governance, we accompanied the birth of the collective, creating the statutes and the association.
Thereafter, it was with Permabondance that we set up the crops and trained the members in the basics of permaculture.

An urban vegetable garden sets the standard in Geneva

This urban vegetable garden, located right in the middle of the city, is an outstanding example of urban planning 2.0! It’s all about turning lawns into places for living, exchanging ideas and experimenting, fostering social ties and neighborhood life. So, in place of a lawn, today sits a magnificent urban vegetable garden, offering food for residents, a biotope for a host of animals and vegetation for a city that suffocates in summer.

To get the project off to a good start, the City of Geneva has commissioned us to train and support volunteer gardeners over a 2-year period. In this way, they will have the opportunity to learn everything (or almost everything) about managing a garden, maintaining fertility, seed production… And in so doing, ensure the association’s long-term future.
