Support for the Incroyables Comestibles Meyrin association
Les incroyables Comestibles Meyrin
« Under every lawn lies a vegetable garden… »
This is the general idea behind a movement launched in England in 2008 by Pamela Warhurst and Mary Clear. The idea is to reclaim public spaces and create vegetable gardens. New living spaces that bring food, biodiversity, climate and social cohesion!
In 2020, Graine de Carotte followed and accompanied the association Les Incroyables comestibles Meyrin throughout the year. After drawing up the garden plans for their 1000m2 plot in the heart of Meyrin. We sowed and planted together.
Free workshops open to all
During the summer season, 5 workshops, free and open to all, were held on the « Parcelle Colorées ». Each workshop included a theoretical and a practical part on a specific theme. In 2020, we tackled permaculture design, rational water management, composting and soil fertility, green fertilizers, seed production and growing tomatoes from A to Z.
The urban vegetable garden is moving!
2022 marks a turning point for ICM. As the commune of Meyrin had to carry out works in place of our plot, it offered us a new 1,400m2 plot alongside the Stade Vaudagne soccer pitch on rue de la Prulay in Meyrin. In just 3 months, members of the association moved plants, tubs and almost 100m3 of soil!
Unwavering commitment and a result in keeping with the association’s image.
Incredible results!
